Savour St Heliers | Crisp Home + Wear

As part of Savour St Heliers, we're celebrating the flavours, rituals, and local moments that bring people together. While Restaurant Month is a wonderful reason to dine out and support local hospitality, savouring the village can also continue at home, around a table set with care.

For Crisp Home + Wear, that means creating a table that feels inviting, thoughtful, and easy to gather around. Think beautiful serving pieces and glassware, as well as small details that can turn a simple meal into something that feels a little more special.

This month, Crisp is sharing a favourite from Two Raw Sisters: The Giant Twix Bar. Rich, layered, and made for slicing and sharing.

Whether you serve it after a home-cooked meal, bring it out with coffee, or pair it with your favourite local takeaway, it's a simple reminder that good food does not need to be complicated to feel generous and decadent.

Giant Twix Bar

This recipe and more can be found on the Two Raw Sisters App or in their Simple Fancy cookbook

Shortbread Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup dried coconut
  • ½ cup cashews or sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup dates, soaked in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then drained
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons water
  • Pinch of sea salt

Method

  1. Line a slice tin with baking paper and set aside.
  2. Place the oats, coconut, cashews or sunflower seeds into a blender or food processor and blend until fine. Add the remaining shortbread ingredients and blend until the mixture comes together.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the lined tin, creating an even base. Set aside.

Caramel sauce ingredients

  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup plant-based yoghurt
  • ½ cup coconut sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Additional filling ingredients

  • 1½ cups cashews, soaked in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then drained
  • ½ cup coconut oil, melted
  • 2 teaspoons peanut butter

Method

  1. Prepare the caramel sauce, then place it in a blender or food processor with the soaked cashews, melted coconut oil, and peanut butter. Blend until smooth and glossy.
  2. Pour the caramel over the shortbread base and smooth the top. Place in the freezer for 1 hour.
  3. Once the caramel is semi-set, remove it from the freezer and gently press small dollops of peanut butter into the caramel layer. Return to the freezer for a further 3 hours, or until fully set.

Chocolate Shell Ingredients

160g dark chocolate, melted

Method

  1. Remove the bar from the tin and place it on a serving plate. Slowly pour the melted chocolate over the top, allowing it to cover the top and sides.
  2. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes, or until the chocolate has set. Slice into your desired pieces before serving. The bars can be kept in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.

A beautifully set table has a way of making even the simplest meal feel special. We're loving Crisp's CP Ceramics bowls, seagrass placemats, and Beldi tumblers for bringing texture, warmth, and an easy sense of occasion to the table.

For Savour St Heliers, it's also a reminder that dining local and gathering at home can go hand in hand. Pick up dinner from a favourite St Heliers restaurant, bring it home, set the table, add something sweet to share, and make an evening of it.

Crisp Home + Wear brings together beautiful homewares, thoughtful gifts, and everyday pieces that help make these moments feel special. From weekend hosting to dessert with friends or a quiet night in with something delicious, Crisp is full of pieces designed to be used, enjoyed, and gathered around.

This August, Savour St Heliers is an invitation to celebrate food, hospitality, and the simple joy of sharing a meal, whether you're dining out in the village or bringing the experience home.
