As part of Savour St Heliers, we’re celebrating the recipes, rituals, and local stories that bring people together across our village.
At Dove Hospice & Wellness, food is one of the many ways care is shared. Guided by the values of Manaakitanga, Aroha, and Mana. Dove Hospice & Wellness creates a space where people feel welcomed, supported, and cared for.
One simple but much-loved example is their homemade cheese scones, baked fresh three times a week.
Often enjoyed alongside patient support groups, these scones have become part of the rhythm of Dove House. Their warm, comforting aroma fills the halls, bringing a sense of home to patients, families, volunteers, and staff.
As Dove Hospice & Wellness reminds us, savouring St Heliers is not only about dining out. It is also about the people, places, and everyday acts of kindness that make our community feel connected. Find their wonderful recipe below.
