Winter is the perfect time to slow down, reset, and take a little extra care of yourself. This season, we’re highlighting local St Heliers businesses that can help you feel your best from the inside out.
From winter skin support to movement, health checks, pharmacy essentials, and proactive care, our local village has everything you need to stay well, feel good, and look after yourself through the colder months.
Today, we’re speaking with Embreis Beauty, a local St Heliers beauty clinic helping clients take a more personalised, proactive approach to their skin. Winter is often the ideal time to focus on treatments, skin planning, and longer-term results, making it a season where small steps now can make a real difference in the months ahead.
We asked Embreis Beauty for their advice on winter skin care, what to prepare before the season gets busy, and the simple local rituals that help them reset.
What should locals book, buy or prepare before winter gets busy?
An Observe Skin Analysis. Many people invest in skincare products and treatments without truly understanding what their skin needs. An Observe Skin Analysis allows us to look beneath the surface and identify concerns such as pigmentation, sun damage, redness, dehydration and early signs of ageing that may not yet be visible to the naked eye.
Winter is the perfect time to assess your skin, create a personalised plan and address concerns before they become more noticeable. I often tell clients that healthy skin doesn't happen by chance—it happens with the right information and a tailored approach and, if suitable, a laser hair removal consultation.
Winter is also an excellent time to begin laser hair removal. With less sun exposure and more covered clothing, the skin is often in an ideal condition for treatment. Because laser hair removal requires a series of sessions, starting in winter means you can make significant progress and enjoy the results by spring and summer.
I always encourage clients to use winter as a time to create a personalised plan rather than waiting until warmer weather arrives.
What does your business do differently during winter?
At Embreis Beauty, winter is when we focus heavily on skin transformation. Many of our clients use this season to address concerns such as rosacea pigmentation, redness, acne scarring and signs of ageing. We also see a significant increase in laser hair removal, as clients know that the work done in winter is what they enjoy the benefits of during summer.
What is your go-to winter ritual, routine, or local favourite?
One of my favourite winter rituals is getting outside, even on the colder mornings. I love walking along St Heliers Beach with my husband and taking our dogs for a run by the water before heading into the clinic.
Living so close to the beach reminds me how lucky we are to be part of this community. Even in winter, there is something special about the fresh sea air, the beautiful views and taking a moment to slow down before the day begins.
For me, winter is about appreciating the simple things – spending time with family, getting outdoors, and enjoying everything that makes St Heliers such a wonderful place to live and work.
Winter can be the perfect time to pause, check in with your skin, and make a plan that feels considered rather than rushed. Whether it’s understanding what your skin really needs, beginning a treatment journey, or simply taking a moment by the water before the day begins, Embreis Beauty reminds us that winter care is about looking ahead while still appreciating the season we’re in.
Keep an eye out for more over the coming months as we share a little collection of local tips, rituals, and thoughtful reminders to help you feel well, cared for, and connected this season.
