Collection: Linda Gilbert
Linda Gilbert, from Auckland, is an abstract painter whose work delves into the unseen energies that surround us, such as magnetism, gravity, and ocean currents. Drawing inspiration from the techniques of Surrealists and Visionary artists, Gilbert's creations are a dynamic blend of intuition and science.
Her paintings are unique expressions and tangible responses to these invisible yet perceived energies, crafted in delicate layers of colour.
In February 2025, Linda showcased her work in a two-person exhibition at Artor Contemporary in Ponsonby, titled 'Tethered and Wild'. This August and September, she is exhibiting at Studio One - Toi Tu on Ponsonby Road in her show 'Double Exposure'. Next April, Linda will attend a prestigious Artist's Residency in the Champagne-Ardenne region of France, for which she has been selected.
Linda has been a finalist in six national and regional competitions, and her work is held in private collections in Aotearoa, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Visual Arts, and a Master of Fine Art (Hons).
