Collection: CJ Hobbs

Having been a craft-based artist and industrial designer for many years, CJ started painting
some years ago and has taken classes at Te Tuhi, Uxbridge, Selwyn College and Browne
School of Art. It’s a hard choice between pottery and art but oils are her medium of choice. CJ hails from a background in tourism in Rotorua. She paints landscapes, New Zealand places that resonate with stillness, and evoke memories and emotion. They’re always empty of people and often at liminal times - the “in-between-ness” of dawn or twilight.
